Hi, I’m Rose Tanasugarn, a 5th year ambassador from Los Angeles, California. Kobe has been my home for almost 13 years. Most everyone knows about Kobe Beef, but not a lot more about this cosmopolitan city, which is why I became one of the original Kobe PR Ambassadors in 2016.
Kobe is a compact city with both a mountain view and a sea view, and foodies have no shortage of cuisines to enjoy in the international restaurants around town. Just a short drive or train ride away, you can enjoy the historic Arima Onsen hot springs and sample delicious Sake in Nada. Over 1/3 of Japan’s sake is made in Hyogo Prefecture, with many of the breweries being in or near Kobe.
Living on Port Island, I am easily able to visit several museums that deserve more attention, such as the UCC Coffee Museum, where you can roast your own coffee beans by hand, and the ASICS Sports Museum, which tells the company’s history and features a great collection of sports memorabilia from past Olympic games and popular athletes.
I look forward to sharing more about unknown Kobe with you!
